What Participants Are Saying
I am excited to implement these new methods and strategies into my classroom with my gifted students as they will peak students’ interest and critical thinking as well as contribute to deeper understanding.
At the beginning of this course, I just saw a big pile of work. Now, at the end of my course, I still see a lot of work, but it was time well spent. I appreciate the thoughtful assignments. I usually complete trainings and PD that have no consideration of my subject. Almost every applicable piece of information had an example of math or physics. It doesn’t go unnoticed and is much appreciated. I am most excited to use PBL more next year. I also learned that differentiation is for high-level learners. That may sound silly, but I hadn’t known that before this. Finally, I learned that G/T students can be gifted in so many different skills. I had just assumed that it was the smartest students. Sometimes that IS the case, but there are a ton of other skills that can qualify students. Overall, I found all of the information very helpful, and I appreciate the course. Thank you.
I’ve learned that gifted learners benefit from flexible pacing that accommodates their ability to grasp concepts quickly while allowing extended time for in-depth exploration of their interests. Structuring lessons to include compacted instruction, independent study, and differentiated assessments will help meet their academic and emotional needs. These strategies enhance learning and help create an environment where gifted students can thrive academically and personally.
This course has been incredibly enlightening. I’ve realized that many of the techniques discussed come naturally to me, but I’m excited to have additional strategies to enhance my students’ learning… Overall, this workshop has been both informative and practical, and I’m grateful for the new insights I’ve gained.
